What Is a Centurion Diamond?

A Centurion Diamond is a lab-grown diamond precision-cut with 100 facets to create a highly active pattern of light, fire and sparkle.

A traditional round brilliant diamond is typically fashioned with 58 facets. The Centurion Round features 100 total facets, creating additional reflecting surfaces through a carefully engineered crown and pavilion design.

But the difference isn't simply about adding more facets.

The placement, proportion, symmetry and polish of those facets work together to determine how light travels through a diamond and returns to the eye. Centurion's cutting architecture was developed to create a lively, multidirectional display of light that becomes especially noticeable as the diamond moves.

This is a diamond designed to be seen in motion.

Why We Chose Centurion at Arezzo

There are plenty of beautiful lab-grown diamonds available today. We wanted something that gave our clients another reason to get excited about the diamond itself—not simply its carat weight or the grade printed on a laboratory report.

“As a GIA Graduate Gemologist and engagement ring designer, I look at more than the numbers on a diamond report. I want to see how the stone handles light, how it performs when it moves and, most importantly, how it looks on the hand. Centurion gives us something genuinely different to show a client side by side with a conventional cut. That's where the 100-facet design really becomes interesting.”

— Vincent Spilotro, GIA Graduate Gemologist & Lead Designer, Arezzo Jewelers

Choosing an engagement ring should be more than comparing specifications on a screen. At Arezzo Jewelers, you can view Centurion Diamonds in person, compare different shapes and proportions, and see how each diamond performs under different lighting before choosing your center stone.

The Centurion Journey

From rough stone to radiant brilliance, every Centurion Diamond undergoes an uncompromising journey of precision and expertise.

FROM ROUGH

Only the top 20% of diamonds qualify as Centurions, and each must meet a strict minimum of F color and VS2 clarity to guarantee exceptional brilliance and light performance.

Three stages of diamond processing: rough diamond, cutting process, and polished diamond.

TO POLISH

Our master cutters bring over half a century of craftsmanship, sculpting each stone with extraordinary precision. Every facet is meticulously positioned to achieve perfect proportion, polish, and symmetry.

TO FINISH

The final masterpiece features 100 facets, delivering unparalleled sparkle and a brilliance that radiates from within.

What Do 100 Facets Actually Do?

More facets do not automatically make one diamond better than another. Cut quality, proportion, symmetry and polish still matter.

What makes Centurion different is the way its additional facets are incorporated into an intentionally engineered cutting pattern.

Each facet acts as a small reflective surface. As the diamond moves, those surfaces interact with incoming light at changing angles, producing flashes of white light and spectral color.

With 100 precisely positioned facets, the Centurion cut is designed to create a particularly active light pattern with exceptional visual movement.

The result is a diamond designed not simply to look brilliant—but to come alive in motion.

Centurion 100 Facet Round Brilliant Lab Diamond
Centurion Round

A New Take on the Classic Round Brilliant
The round brilliant has been the benchmark for diamond sparkle for generations. The Centurion Round expands the traditional 58-facet architecture to 100 facets, creating additional surfaces designed to capture, reflect and return light.

The familiar shape remains timeless.

The light pattern is anything but ordinary.

Centurion 100 Facet Oval Diamond
Centurion Oval

Elongated Elegance. More Dynamic Light.
Oval diamonds offer the brilliance of a round diamond with an elongated silhouette that can create a graceful appearance on the finger.

The Centurion Oval incorporates additional crown and pavilion facet architecture designed to maximize light performance while reducing the appearance of the darker bow-tie effect that can occur through the center of elongated diamonds.

The result is an oval with a bright, lively personality from end to end.

Brilliant From Every Angle
Part round brilliant. Part marquise. Completely distinctive.

The Centurion Pear combines its iconic teardrop silhouette with an enhanced facet pattern designed to create strong light return throughout the stone while softening the visual bow-tie commonly seen in elongated shapes.

It's an especially striking choice for someone who wants an engagement ring that feels elegant without feeling conventional.

A Dramatic Shape, Reimagined
Few diamond shapes make an entrance quite like a marquise.

The Centurion Marquise uses its 100-facet architecture to bring additional visual movement to the long, elegant silhouette while its engineered proportions are designed to reduce the appearance of bow-tie shadowing through the center.

The result combines dramatic finger coverage with a highly active display of light.

The Centurion Standard

Not Every Diamond Becomes a Centurion
According to Centurion, only the top 20% of diamonds considered for the collection qualify, and each must meet a minimum standard of F color and VS2 clarity before undergoing the Centurion cutting and polishing process.

From there, experienced diamond cutters precisely position and polish the 100-facet architecture to achieve the proportions, symmetry and finish required by the Centurion design.

For us, that distinction matters.

A beautiful engagement ring begins with more than a large carat weight. It begins with selecting a diamond whose quality, proportions and visual performance work together.

Understanding Your Centurion Diamond

A diamond grading report contains valuable information—but knowing how to interpret that information is just as important.

When you view a Centurion Diamond at Arezzo Jewelers, we'll help you understand its:

Carat weight • Color • Clarity • Measurements • Proportions • Polish • Symmetry • Shape • Overall visual performance

We'll also show you something a grading report cannot fully communicate:

how the diamond actually looks to your eyes.

That's why we encourage clients to compare diamonds side by side whenever possible.
